The Belinus Giant
At the Belinus Giant, we believe that the way we say goodbye matters.
This is Scotland’s first ever venue designed solely for memorial and personalised funeral services that offer complete privacy and created to your exact wishes.
We create bespoke deeply personal memorial experiences set in a unique riverside setting we offer families and loved ones an opportunity to honour life with grace and spiritual beauty.
Our History
With over 35 years’ combined experience in the funeral industry, we have created the first venue in central Scotland that is focused entirely on creating a dignified and loving farewell, unique to your loved one.
Modern memorials often feel impersonal or rushed and the cost of funerals, like everything else, has spiraled, and many are choosing to go direct cremation to ease the burden on funeral costs.
We reimagine the farewell ritual, away from cold chapels and sterile funeral homes and return it to the earth to community, to music and memory and more importantly, your loved one.
Each gathering is held in our main function room along with access to private gardens and a riverbank setting, anchored by our 300-year-old Sycamore tree, our living altar of remembrance, which sits on the Belinus Line, an ancient ley line that runs through the uk.
A place of ancient power, heritage and ancestral roots surrounded by natural beauty and nature but easily accessible for central Scotland.
We accommodate all your memorial service needs under one roof. Just think along the lines of a crematorium or parlour service and then the wake or funeral tea all in one place.
From traditional services including your minister, celebrant or humanist and a tailored life story, to visual and music tributes, watched in comfort surrounded by your loved ones, listening to favorite music tracks, films or videos and then enjoying an extended food and beverage menu all in one place at one time and keeping the numbers small (recommended 30 for maximum comfort) so not lose the familiarity and privacy.
Within easy access from major road networks, just off the M8 and M9 at Newbridge, and very close to Edinburgh airport, with car parking facilities for up to 30 cars, we pride ourselves on offering our services 7 days a week, Saturdays, Sundays and evening services included, basically what suits you and your closest. We can also arrange executive transport, limousines or minibuses if you wish to travel as a group from a desired, set location.
"Our commitment is to support families through every step, creating a space where grief can be expressed openly, healing begins and memories are cherished for generations to come."
The Journey
Our journey to this point has been both long and meaningful, with support and healing positioned at the very heart of our mission.
As funeral professionals, we recognise the profound importance of guiding individuals and families through some of life’s most difficult chapters. Our compassion, empathy and dedication to provide a custom-made personal service tailored precisely to the unique requirements of each family and those they hold dear.
Our management team includes Kirsty Ross, who brings 25 years of funeral director knowledge and experience working in Edinburgh and West Lothian and Lissette Williams, a funeral celebrant for 10 years, working throughout the central belt.

Beginnings of the Belinus Giant

We welcome all faiths and philosophies, ensuring that every farewell is a true reflection of the person being honoured.
Our commitment is to support families through every step, creating a space where grief can be expressed openly, healing begins and memories are cherished for generations to come.
Based in Kirkliston, our site sits on the Spine of Albion, also known as the Belinus line, an ancient energy ley line, described by some as the uk’s spiritual spine.
Coursing through the center of the uk, through some of our country’s most significant heritage sites from as far as Winchester Cathedral to Carlisle and directly through the heart of Peebles, Dunfermline, Dunkeld, Culloden and the Black Isle. Hence where we derived our name, Belinus for the ley line and Giant for the 300-year-old sycamore that’s sits pride of place in our grounds.
Each step we’ve taken has been guided by the hope of offering comfort to those navigating the depths of loss, reminding families they are never alone.
Through every tear and every memory shared, we strive to kindle a light of warmth and compassion, helping hearts begin to mend while honouring those who are so dearly missed.
